DON MCLEAN SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM BOTANICAL GARDENS MARCH 23

Iconic American singer, songwriter and performer Don McLean is set to release his new album Botanical Gardens on March 23, 2018 via BMG.

Don is set to appear on BBC Breakfast Thursday, March 15 along with multiple BBC radio stations and Absolute Radio in the U.K.

“Greetings from London where we are promoting my new album ‘Botanical Gardens’, said McLean. “The reception has been wonderful and I look forward to coming to New York next, where we will perform at City Winery on Friday the 23rd! I think this new album will do very well. Take a listen to “Ain’t She a Honey” and “Total Eclipse of The Sun” – I hope it will be something people like.”

Don is profiled in a new episode of Heartland TV’s More Than The Music airing Tuesday, March 20 at 8:00pm ET/PT as well as Heartland’s Roku channel and online at watchheartlandtv.com, with an encore viewing Sunday, March 25 at 8:00pm ET/PT.

On March 21, Don’s hometown of New Rochelle, New York will have its own piece of “American Pie” when the world-renowned singer and songwriter will dedicate his existing plaque at the city’s Walk of Fame in Ruby Dee Park at Library Green. The ceremony is open to the public, beginning at 4 PM, and will be hosted by Jennifer Lanser, Executive Director of the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce. Later that evening the city will honor McLean with a Lifetime Achievement Award at their annual Dinner Dance and Awards ceremony at 7pm. For more information or to RSVP, contact the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce at info@newrochamber.org, infonewrochamber@gmail.com, call 914-632-5700 or visit newrochellechamber.org.

Don then returns to New York City with appearances scheduled at ABC News Radio, WABC’s Bernie & Sid, iHeart/Premiere Radio Networks, Fox News Radio, United Stations, LifeMinute, and more, ending the week with a performance at City Winery Friday, March 23.

With over 40 gold and platinum records worldwide, his prowess for writing timeless songs is once again captured on Botanical Gardens, as he artfully weaves country, Americana, folk, and boot stomping rock for an eclectic, yet American sound that he is known for.

Botanical Gardens, his 19th studio album and first in 8 years, is arguably one of Don’s most reflective to date. As he characterizes it, “The inspiration for the project started years ago when I would walk in the beautiful gardens in Sydney, Australia near the Opera House. I would dream young dreams and it was a comfort and an inspiration. I was always young inside, like we all are, and I felt it again there.” Further reflecting on the record, Don says, “the whole album really revolves around the title song. Later on I realized that the gardens are really a metaphorical heaven, and there’s a kind of death and rebirth.

Intimacy can be found at the heart of this record, with Don penning personal numbers looking back on a life well-lived, as well as his observations on youth and love. Recording at Watershed Studios in Nashville also allowed a different kind of intimacy for Don and his band, as they were made to “play close and feel the music”, resulting in a raw, yet tight sound throughout.

In nearly 50 years, Don’s songs have become an iconic staple of American music. His music has been performed by artists as diverse as Elvis Presley, Madonna, Fred Astaire, Drake, James Blake, Ellie Goulding, Chet Atkins, Garth Brooks, Weird Al Yankovic, George Michael, Josh Groban, Coolio and Ed Sheeran.

THE OAK RIDGE BOYS TO PERFORM ON ‘HUCKABEE’ THIS WEEKEND ON TBN

THE OAK RIDGE BOYS TO PERFORM ON ‘HUCKABEE’ THIS WEEKEND ON TBN

Made up of members Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall, William Lee Golden and Richard Sterban, The Oak Ridge Boys are members of the Grand Ole Opry and achieved, arguably, country music’s highest honor when they were inducted into The Country Music Hall Of Fame in October 2015.

The group has given many command performances throughout their legendary career, from performing for King Gustaf of Sweden, to Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Monaco, to Her Royal Highness Princess Anne of Great Britain and five U.S. presidents: Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. In 1976, they performed in Russia during the “Iron Curtain” days on a three week tour with Roy Clark – a first for ANY country music artist.

Since the start of their highly decorated career, the Oaks have achieved five GRAMMY® Awards, and multiple CMA, ACM and Dove Awards for their crossover brand of pop, country and gospel music that spans multiple generations.

In preparation for the release of their highly anticipated new album 17th Avenue Revival (March 16, Lightning Rod Records), The Oak Ridge Boys are gearing up for media rounds in Nashville and New York City where the quartet will make appearances on The Big Interview with Dan Rather, Larry’s Country Diner, The Grand Ole Opry, a sit-down one hour special on RFD, The 700 Club, SiriusXM, Jesus Calling, Southern Living, Fox News Radio, METRO Focus, Westwood One, Celeb Secrets, Heartland, Nashville Insider, Country Rebel and more.

In front of an at-capacity, standing-room-only crowd at the Country Music Hall of Fame™ and Museum CMA Theater on Monday (3/5) night, The Oak Ridge Boys electrified with hit after hit, and then introduced their the new album. In addition, and in typical Oak Ridge Boys fashion, the group set a unique precedent by presenting the Country Music Hall of Fame with a special Edison cylinder recording of “Brand New Star,” the first track from their new album.

“It’s exciting to me that our manager, Jim Halsey, and Logan Rogers, President of Lightning Rod Records, were able to envision the idea of releasing the new album, all or in part, on virtually every format of commercial recording technology since the Edison cylinder — and to find people to record ‘Brand New Star’ on cylinder,” said Duane Allen.

“We thought it was a fantastic idea to include vinyl, cassette, CD and cylinder — the only format we left out was eight-track and, who knows, that might be next.” Allen said. “It’s proof that our team can cover all the bases, while coming up with a fun and provocative promotion for the new product.”

About The Oak Ridge Boys:
The Oak Ridge Boys, who have sold over 41 million units worldwide, are synonymous with “America, apple pie, baseball, pop, rock, gospel and country music.” In addition to their awards and accolades in the country and pop music fields, they have garnered five GRAMMY® Awards and nine GMA DOVE Awards as well as the Mainstream Artist of the Year Award at the ICM Awards. The group—Joe Bonsall, Duane Allen, William Lee Golden, and Richard Sterban—have earned prestigious membership in the Country Music Hall of Fame (2015 Inductees) and Grand Ole Opry, and are known worldwide as one of recording history’s most extraordinary musical successes. They have charted single after single and album after album, celebrating two double-platinum albums and more than 30 Top 10 hits, including No. 1 chart-toppers “Elvira,” “Bobbie Sue,” “Thank God For Kids,” “American Made,” “Y’All Come Back Saloon,” among dozens more. JANIE FRICKE CONTINUES TO CAPTIVATE AUDIENCES WITH ELECTRIFYING PERFORMANCES

Raised on a farm in Indiana, Janie Fricke began singing in church, and later turned that talent into a career which began as one of the marketing industry’s most successful jingle singers. Long before her success as a country artist, millions of people became familiar with Fricke’s voice through ads for United Airlines, Coca-Cola, 7-Up, and Red Lobster. She soon became a session singer where she was singing background in the studio with some of the biggest country stars of the late 70’s and early 80’s, including Loretta Lynn, Eddie Rabbitt, Crystal Gayle, Ronnie Milsap, Barbara Mandrell, and Mel Tillis.

After a string of duets with such greats as Merle Haggard and Moe Bandy, Fricke landed a solo recording contract in the early 80’s and scored several hit singles, including “Don’t Worry ‘Bout Me Baby,” “He’s a Heartache” and “You’re Heart’s Not In It.” She won CMA’s coveted “Female Vocalist of the Year” in 1983 and ’84 and has been nominated for three Grammy Awards.
