Country Artist Billy Dawson And Meridian Senior Living Celebrate Black History Month With Launch Of ‘Seniors & Songwriters’ YouTube Series
Country music singer-songwriter and best-selling children’s book author Billy Dawson has teamed up with Meridian Senior Living, headquartered in Bethesda, MD., to create the new series, ‘Seniors & Songwriters.’ This show brings songwriters to different Meridian Senior Living facilities across the country, where they play music and tell the stories behind their songs to appreciative senior citizens and the seniors get to share their life stories as well. The program does its best to interact with the community, offering friendship and more importantly, dignity. The first episode of the heartwarming series is being premiered by Sounds Like Nashville on Monday, February, 22 featuring Mr. Perkins, who is a 97-year-old American hero.
Texas-bred & Nashville-based country artist and guitar virtuoso Billy Dawson has an important message to share as the country unites to celebrate unity this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Dawson wrote “UNITE” with Eric Varnell in 2015 and felt he should release it in 2020 as a deeply divided United States descended into chaos. Billy decided the moment was right to share the message of hope and unity, sending out a message of reconciliation and togetherness. Now, as MLK Day arrives in 2021 and a nation still deeply divided, Billy has created a lyric video for “UNITE” as well as a concept music video, with both equally shining a light of hope into the darkness.
