Fellow Singer/Songwriters and Friends Remember and Mourn The Loss of Mac Davis
Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Member Mac Davis has passed away at age 78. Some of his most legendary hits as an artist include, “Baby Don’t Get Hooked On Me,” “Naughty Girl,” “Texas In My Rear View Mirror,” and “Hooked On Music.” As a songwriter, Davis penned hits for artists such as Nancy Sinatra, Elvis Presley, B.J. Thomas, Bobby Goldsboro, Vicki Carr, Perry Como, and many more. While living in California, Davis began acting, appearing in The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard In Hollywood, Murder She Wrote, Where The Red Fern Grows, Beer For My Horses, and more. Davis was not only a poetic prodigy, but a friend to many in the music and entertainment industry.
Country Sway Summer Streamathon Event Kicks off On Thursday, August 27 And Continues Through the Weekend With Over 40 Exclusive Artist Performances
Fans all over the world are gearing up for the epic 4-day Country Sway “Summer Sway” Streamathon, featuring over 40 different artist performances from Thursday, August 27 through Sunday, August 30! Rising Pop-Country singer/songwriter Flo will be kicking off the event Wednesday evening at 7:30pm CT with a special “Summer Sway” pre-show. This one of a kind virtual music festival will feature artists such as Paige King Johnson, J.D Shelburne, Shane Owens, Ava Rowland, Tim Atwood, Vonn Kiss, Reyna Roberts, Chapel Hart, along with Essex County, Jamie O’Neal, Kristian Bush, Matt Stell, Celeste Kellogg and many more. The Country Sway Summer Streamathon will benefit Music Health Alliance as the non-profit continues to provide immediate critical assistance to members of the U.S. music community who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

When COVID-19 began to close all of America down, T. Graham Brown jumped into action not wanting the music to stop playing, as touring was coming to an immediate halt. By calling a few friends from the 80’s and 90’s era of Country music, T. Graham decided it was time to put together one of the first live social concerts for fans to watch from anywhere, all in an effort to keep the music playing. Out of all of that, Hats Off To The 80s & 90s – The Music Continues was born and included Brown, Wade Hayes, Bryan White, Tim Rushlow, Ronnie McDowell, David Frizzell, Tim Atwood, Lulu Roman, and hosted by Inside Edition’s Megan Alexander. Taking place on March 23, 2020, from the 615 Hideaway studio in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, the grouping of artists performed as acoustic as possible, practiced social distancing, and remained in their vehicles until it was their time to perform. Now, a few months later, all of those efforts were recognized by the Telly Awards with a Bronze win for Social Media Live Event.
Fellow Performers Remember Country And Southern Rock Legend Charlie Daniels, Who Died Today At 83
Country Music Hall of Fame, Grand Ole Opry member and southern rock legend Charlie Daniels passed away this morning, Monday, July 6th at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee. Doctors determined the cause of death was a hemorrhagic stroke. Daniels was 83.
Tim Atwood To Host World Famous ‘Midnite Jamboree’ Saturday, June 20
Country music entertainer Tim Atwood will host the world famous Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree on Saturday, June 20th. While maintaining social distancing and upholding CDC guidelines, there will not be a live audience present; however, viewers can watch the taping live at 2pm CT on Facebook. As always listeners can tune in and hear the Midnite Jamboree live on WSM 650 AM at midnight CT or on wsmonline.com.

Musicians Hall of Fame member and Grand Ole Opry veteran Jimmy Capps has passed away at age 81 due to health complications. After getting his start with The Louvin Brothers, Jimmy went on to become one of the most sought after session players in Nashville. Some of the incredible recordings you can hear Capps on are The Oak Ridge Boys’ “Elvira,” “Sail Away,” Tammy Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man,” Barbara Mandrell’s “Sleeping Single In A Double Bed,” “I was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool,” George Jones’ “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” Ronnie Milsap’s “Smokey Mountain Rain,” and “Legend In My Time,” as well as other artists such as Janie Fricke, Lacy J. Dalton, Andy Williams, Ray Charles, Mac Davis, Moe Bandy, Joe Stampley, Johnny Paycheck, John Conlee and countless more. As a staff member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1967, Capps has remained a solid foundation in Music City and can be seen on Country’s Family Reunion and as “Sheriff” Jimmy Capps on Larry’s Country Diner. Jimmy was not only a musical prodigy, but a friend to many in the music and entertainment industry.

Little Richard’s music broke racial barriers and his impressionable style shattered all that was standard. The eccentric star paved the way for other stand-out acts with his unique nature, flamboyant flair and inspiring innovations to culture. With an unmatched career of stellar achievements, the musical giant leaves behind an unforgettable legacy. Little Richard was not only a distinct entertainer but a friend to many in the music industry.

Grammy Award winning, Songwriters Hall of Fame Member John Prine passed away at age 73 due to Covid-19. Some of his most legendary hits include, “Hello in There,” “Sam Stone,” “Angel From Montgomery” and “Paradise.” Prine used these masterpieces to highlight moments that the average mind grazed over with empathetic words and light-hearted lines. Writing for big industry names such as Johnny Cash, George Strait, Don Williams, the Everly Brothers, Carl Perkins and Bette Midler, all while being a singer, author, actor and record label owner, leaves Prine with one of the most renowned legacies in music history. Prine was not only a poetic prodigy, but a friend to many in the music and entertainment industry.
Fellow Artists and Friends Remember and Mourn The Loss of Grand Ole Opry Great Jan Howard and Country Music’s “Pickup Man,” Joe Diffie
Nineties country-music hitmaker Joe Diffie died Sunday, March 29th due to complications related to COVID-19. The feel-good tunes that Diffie created continue to bless fans around the world. In all, Diffie charted 18 Top 10 singles, with the majority reaching the top five, including 1993 radio essentials “Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox (If I Die)” and iconic song, “John Deere Green.” Diffie’s popular hits also include “Home,” “Third Rock From the Sun,” “Pickup Man,” “If the Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets),” and “Bigger Than the Beatles.”
Chart-topping country leading lady and 49 year member of the Grand Ole Opry, Jan Howard, died peacefully on Saturday, March 28th at age 91 in Gallatin, Tennessee. In 1960 Howard relocated from Los Angeles to Nashville, where she began appearing on the Opry. Howard would sing demos of songs including “I Fall to Pieces,” a monumental success for Patsy Cline. Howard would also team with Opry star Bill Anderson on a number of duets, including her sole number one, “For Loving You.” After a recording career with Capitol Records, she was signed to Decca’s label, landing a top five single with “Evil on Your Mind.”

Hats Off To The 80s & 90s – The Music Continues Presented By The 615 Hideaway Event Draws A Crowd Of Over 260,000 Viewers
On Monday, March 23, the acoustic live-stream concert “Hats off to the 80’s and 90’s- The Music Continues” presented by the 615 Hideaway took over the internet drawing in over 260,000 country music fans from around the world to enjoy live country music from the comfort of their homes. The special event was hosted by Inside Edition’s Megan Alexander and arranged by country hit maker T. Graham Brown in an effort to keep spirits high, hearts strong and bring optimistic entertainment to those stuck inside during times of social distancing. Brown, joined by fellow artists Bryan White, Wade Hayes, Tim Rushlow, David Frizzell, Ronnie McDowell,Tim Atwood and Lulu Roman put on a show that left fans counting down the days until the next live-stream concert.
