‘The Westby Family’ (fka a trio) drops surprise second ‘single’ during the holidays; rebrands as ‘The Westby Family Four’ & receives instant ‘Emmy’ award for their release efforts 😉
Eden is the second child born to 2911 Enterprises Inc President/CEO Jeremy Westby and his wife, Ashley (aka “Schwee”) (Read) Westby
Eden Marion Westby was born on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 0534 hours (CT) at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, to parents Jeremy Westby (Linkedin | Linktree) and Ashley (Read) Westby (Linkedin | IMDb). She weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and measured 19.75 inches.
She’s happy, healthy—and so is mama.
What a year. It hasn’t been the easiest, but we’re ending it (and beginning 2026) on a grateful note—refined by the hard, and held by the hope ahead.
A bit of Jeremy and Ashley’s history first, before an explanation of the names…
If you read our January 2023 “press release” when Levi was born, you already know two things about us:
1) We’re the kind of people who will write a press release about a baby (because why not?). I just can’t help myself. It’s the day job of a publicist!
2) We take names seriously—both the story and the Scripture behind them.
And if you’ve walked with us this past year+, you know a third thing too: we’ve lived through both deep grief and deep grace.
In the past 18 months, we lost three babies to miscarriage. We were honest about it in our family newsletter, and we want to be honest here, too—not for sympathy, but because it’s part of Eden’s story…and ours. We believe those tiny lives mattered, and we trust they are safe with Jesus—our little “angel babies,” part of our family just the same.
So when God surprised us with a pregnancy that held on—steady, strong, and full of mercy—we knew this baby’s name needed to carry what we’re living: new life, new hope, and a new connection to the Lord who meets us in both the garden and the valley.
And then—because God loves a poetic timeline—our triple-rainbow miracle girl was due on Christmas Day… and arrived the morning after Christmas. A literal “day-after” gift, wrapped in hospital swaddles and answered prayers. And two of our nurses, one in labor & delivery, and the other in the recovery ward were named… GRACE!
What’s in the name?
EDEN (עדן)
Eden is a biblical place name tied to the Garden of Eden—the earthly paradise God planted “in the east” and where Adam and Eve lived before the Fall. The name is commonly connected to the Hebrew word for “pleasure” and “delight,” and it carries the image of beauty, abundance, innocence, and intimate fellowship with God.
To us, Eden is not a naive “everything is perfect” word; it’s a promise-word. It reminds us that God is still in the business of planting life where there has been loss, bringing delight after grief, and restoring what the enemy tried to steal, and a daily reminder that God is faithful even after life's hardships. Something that reminds us about our daily promises of who we are and who God is.
In other words: Eden marks a new beginning for our family—our “fresh start” baby, our reminder that joy can return, and that Heaven’s timing is never late (even if it isn’t ours).
MARION (מִרְיָם)
Marion is a medieval French diminutive of Marie (Mary), ultimately tracing back to the Hebrew name Miryam (Miriam). The meaning of Mary/Miryam has been debated throughout history—often associated with ideas like “wished-for child,” “beloved,” or (in other interpretations) the experience of bitterness. For us, those layers feel honest: we have known bitterness this year, and we have also known the fierce, miraculous feeling of being given a child we’ve wished and prayed for.
Biblically, Mary is the mother of Jesus—the young woman who carried the Savior and said “yes” to God’s call when it would change her entire life. Her story is one of courage, surrender, and steadfast faith in the middle of uncertainty. That “yes” matters to us.
After walking through multiple losses, choosing to hope again has felt like a daily “yes”—sometimes brave, sometimes trembling, always held by God.
Our personal reasons for Marion…
We chose Marion because Ashley’s best friend is her grandmother, Marion (her mother’s mother)—a woman who has loved, shaped, and cheered her on for a lifetime. It’s a name packed with legacy, prayer, wisdom, and steady friendship.
It also beautifully honors Jeremy’s family: his grandmother’s middle name was Marian (spelled with an “a”), so Marion is a wink to both women at once—a double honor, stitched into one name.
And then there’s the “Em” of it all…
Eden’s initials are E.M.—“Emmy” for short—which will always remind Jeremy of his grandfather, Howard Emerson Wright, an Air Force Colonel who went by “Em.” Ashley never got to meet him, but his life and leadership helped shape Jeremy, and it means something to carry his memory forward in the smallest (and sweetest) way.
And if you want one more “only God” detail: those letters—E.M.—were carved into a bench at Percy Warner Park’s Luke Lea Overlook long before we ever showed up. Ashley and Jeremy took their first walk there in 2018, noticed the initials, and then Jeremy proposed to Ashley on that very bench in 2020.
(And no, we did NOT carve them—they were already there.)
A quick recap of Levi’s 2023 announcement…
Levi Henry Westby was born on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 0300 hours (CT) at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He weighed 7 lbs 7 oz and measured 18.5 inches.
We shared that the name “Levi” first grabbed our hearts in a very Westby way: standing in line at Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion in the fall of 2021—right after the fireworks—when we spotted “Levi” on a prop gravestone. Without planning, we both turned at the same moment and said, “I love that name.”
And in true “surprise gender” fashion, the doctor and nurses briefly forgot it was a secret… so the moment Levi made his grand entrance, a nurse blurted out, “IT’S A BOY!!”
Levi means “joined / united / attached,” and we’ve watched our little uniter do exactly that—bringing people together everywhere he goes. Henry means “ruler of the house,” a nod to leadership through service, and to Ashley’s family heritage.
Now, the boy who made us mom and dad is stepping into his newest and biggest role yet: BIG BROTHER—full of energy, all things transportation, and already so proud to “help.”
WESTBY (the family name, now with four members)
The Westby name has its origins in Anglo-Saxon Britain and is linked to Viking settlers—habitationally tied to small villages near Lincolnshire, Lancashire, and Yorkshire. The place name comes from Old Norse vestr (“west”) and býr (“settlement”). You could say it’s a name built on movement, migration, and making a home—something we’re learning anew as we grow.
Of note (and still a running family joke): in 2022, the Westbys (tongue firmly in cheek) also “became” Lord Jeremy Westby and Lady Ashley Westby by way of supporting Scottish woodlands through Established Titles. Their designated plot is near Eddleston, Scotland. Reparations? Viking penance? Who knows…
The Westbys want to thank you for your support, your prayers, and your love as we grow our family—on the hard days and the miracle days.
Love,
Jeremy, Ashley (“Schwee”), Levi Henry, and Eden Marion Westby
P.S. Biscuit 🐈 is still supervising from a safe distance… and Keegan is forever watching over us – playing with our angel babies in heaven. 😿🌈
